Flower Delivery to Mimms Funeral Services - Danny's Flower Market

Our Story Our founder, Edward F. Mimms, Sr., was the son of Attorney Cornelius Mimms who operated his law office on Hull Street. Hull Street seemed to be a business trend for the Mimms Family. Mr. Mimms, Sr., started his funeral business in Midlothian, VA. However, after moving three times, it was on Hull Street that his funeral business began to thrive. His final move began when he purchased the Morrisett Funeral Home building. This building became the present home of Mimms Funeral Home, located at 1827 Hull Street. Long before Mr. Mimms was a funeral director, his business started when he was a mechanic and operated a mechanics shop in Midlothian, VA. After closing his mechanic shop, he attended Raynaud Mortuary School in New York. Through his many years of operating the funeral business, it is hard to think of a business without devoted employees, such as Leon Stovall, James Taylor, Sr., Robert Mealy, Sr., Oscar F. Howard, Edward Law, Stanley Cooke, O.P. Chiles, Theodore Cheatham, Alvin Washington, Thomas Kaiser, Clarence McCoy, Wilbert Allen, Gary Hill, and many other employees of the Mimms Funeral Home that had an input in the Mimms success story. Mimms Funeral Home has a long established reputation in serving South Richmond and the surrounding areas. It is our goal to provide the general public with quality service, dignity, and professional care. You, the public, encouraged our success. We have aimed to serve you in all capacities since 1925 when Edward F. Mimms, Sr., decided that South Richmond needed a funeral home. What made his success possible was his commitment to people and funeral service. It was you, the public that kept him focused on making every effort to provide you with quality service, modern equipment and comfortable facilities. Mr. Mimms, Sr., along with his devoted wife, Juanita M. Mimms, spent many hours giving sympathetic comfort to grieving families. The Mimms have always believed in serving the community with respect. These beliefs were carried on through the funeral service where his two sons, Bernard and Edward F. Mimms, Jr. continued to provide traditional and professional quality funeral services. Mimms Funeral Home is grateful for your constant belief in us and we do give thanks to you for allowing us to serve you in your time of need.
